Below are some examples of when the Holy Spirit overpowers you physically so that you are no longer in control but have supernatural strength…
1Kings 18:41Then Elijahtold Ahab, “Go on upand eatand drink, forthe soundof a heavyrainstormcan be heard.”18:42So Ahabwent on upto eatand drink, while Elijahclimbedtothe topof Carmel. He bentdown toward the groundand puthis facebetweenhis knees.18:43He toldhis servant, “Go on upand lookin the directionof the sea.” So he went on up, looked, and reported, “There isnothing.”SeventimesElijah sent him to look.18:44The seventhtime the servant said, “Look, a smallcloud, the size of the palm of a man’shand, is rising upfrom the sea.” Elijah then said, “Goand tellAhab, ‘Hitch upthe chariots and go down, so that the rainwon’tovertakeyou.’”18:45Meanwhilethe skywas covered with darkclouds, the windblew, and there wasa heavy rainstorm. Ahabrodetoward Jezreel.18:46Nowthe LordenergizedElijahwith power; he tuckedhis robe into his belt67and ranaheadof Ahaball the wayto Jezreel.
Judges 13:24Manoah’swifegave birth to a sonand namedhim Samson. The childgrewand the Lordempoweredhim.13:25The Lord’sspiritbeganto control him in MahanehDanbetweenZorahand Eshtaol.
14:19The Lord’sspiritempoweredhim. He went downto Ashkelonand murderedthirtymen. He tooktheir clothesand gavethem to the men who had solvedthe riddle. He was furiousas he went backhome.
Psalm18:29Indeed,with your help I can charge against an army;by my God’spower I can jump overa wall.
Last weekend I went to a conference with Justin Abraham (from Companyofburninghearts), Steve Mckie, during the night session, after I took of the communion imaging I was in the heavenly realms beyond the veil, that the bread and the wine was of supernatural substance, all of a sudden I felt so much supernatural energy flow through me, that when I went to give and join a group hug to about 5 ppl, supernaturalay my feet started to move really fast running in a circle and I couldn’t control it!! It happened for a couple of minutes, then I fell slowly backwards while I tried to control myself but I lost control of my body and fell to the ground- I couldn’t move at all. This is incredible!! I was overpowered by the Spirit of God!!
God has overpowered you to be a witness for Him!!
He has given you supernatural strength to be a Witness for Him
Acts 1:8Butyou will receivepower whenthe HolySpirithas comeuponyou, andyou will bemywitnessesinJerusalem, andinallJudeaandSamaria, andtothe farthest partsof the earth.”
Don’t be afraid to step out and love on someone, share the love of Jesus- you’ve already got the power to do it!!
In the last 2 weeks I’ve been in Moldova, once known as the poorest country in europe, the worst human trafficking in the world, God’s heart is for this place deeply
By the grace of God we’ve been sharing the love and Joy of Jesus and testify to the power of God’ moving so powerfully with His love. We’ve just been enjoying Jesus, stepping out in faith and giving words of knowledge, telling people how important and precious they are to God,
One time we were in a coffee shop, just intoxicated with His love, and watier was wondering what’s going on, then we prayed for all the waiters and they started to laugh uncontrollably for over 45minutes, as you will see later in this posts:
The theme of this whole week begun with, “Don’t think, just Drink (of the Holy Spirit) full of laughter; don’t worry, live life from your heart not your head.”
Tuesday, 2nd of June, 2015
Flying from Amsterdam, I missed the connecting flight from Bucharest to Chisnau. It was very tiring as the night before I only slept 3 hours. But it all worked out as I got managed to get my luggage and bring it with me to Chisnau. This actually gave me time spend time with Jesus, and figure out my goals in Moldova. Also, I decided to take a step of faith and withnessed to the lady at the coffee shop, she was blessed when I said to her that she is important to God and encouraged her to seek Him.
I moved into stay with my lovely hosts Vladimir.
Lunch La Placinte
I meet my friend Victoria for lunch, we ended up laughing in the Holy spirit for a longtime in the restaurant, we talked a lot about “Don’t think, just Drink (of the Holy Spirit) full of laughter; don’t worry, live life from your heart not your head.”
We witnessed to the waitress Nicolete, when we prayed for her, she said she felt so much peace that she could goto sleep
At the park
Prayed for lady who had leg problem, she said that she came to the park expecting to get something, and we spoke to her and prayed
As we got into a taxi this afternoon, the music “don’t worry, be happy” started to play
It would always rain or stop raining when we are about to get out of the coffee shop or out of the Park. As for Victoria this kind of thing always happens to her as she believes it symbolises the blessings of God.
Lady at restaurant had goose bumps after we prayed for her and she asked for Victorias No as well.
While we were having coffee, we decided to write out a treasure map asking God for clues on where to go and who to talk to.
Victoria had a word of knowledge to goto this shop, so we get there trying to witness with the people who worked there. Then this lady walks into the store who just randomly asked us, “are you giving medecine away?” she said because she felt that we were so positive that she decided to talk to us. I get a word of knowledge “no 8”, she said a relative from russia are getting married August they are coming next week and staying until August.
While we were in the restaurant for dinner, a guy couldn’t talk or hear came in reaching out his hand to ask us for a dime, I wasn’t too sure what it was going on then he left. Then I looked at my phone and it was 6:55pm then Victoria read Isaiah 55 which said, “if you have no penny, come eat and drink”, so she went to chase after the man and he came back. We ended up praying and ministering with him, Victoria really felt the love of God coming from this man. God gave me his name which started with P.
Holy Spirit Navigation- Victoria just text me at the right moment and I happened to get off at the bus station when she found me.
Went to visit underground wine city symbolic of the hidden treasures of Christ in us
Lunch at Olivia-
Prayed for waitress, got no. 3 and 18. Asked her what it meant, she said there were 3 children in her family, and she’s 18 years old.
Saw 911 sign on the restaurant as were talking about getting justice for the bad things that had happened to me in business, this was a sign.
God would give her desires of her heart
Did all sorts of tongues and interpretations through voice on google translate using Hebrew, Korean and some interesting things came out.
Bbq at Tania’s place, had a good time of fellowship and prayer.
Preach at church
6 words of knowledge to pray for people’s sickensses, it was all accurate; many were instantly healed.
Went to Marina to sleep there in the afternoon.
Went back to La Placinte and the lady asked for Victorias no
Went to worship in the park at night
Prayed for Marina and Stela and giving prophetic words for them and Moldova
Hanged out with Vladimir, my hosts
Ministered and laughed with Tania in the park, prayed for her turbeculosis
Ministered to waitress at the pub
Dinner at Pana
Prayed and lead waiter to the Lord, then prayed for other waitresses, they were so open. It so happened that there were no other waitresses in the restaurants but us.
God gave us word for one of the waitress that she is going to change direction in her life and it was correct
We share the good news in the park. Victoria felt lead to goto this lady selling the icecream, we told her how important God was to her. I felt to ask, “does your family need to move to a new house?” she said “yes, my mum needs a new place immediately”, so we prayed for her.
Then Me, Victoria, Sasha were worshipping and singing in the park. The Holy Spirit Joy overflowed out of us, we started to laugh. Then these late teens or early 20’s guy and gal walked past us and started to laugh as well, they were giving out free newspapers.
The Holy Spirit is also called the “New Wine”. Moldova is famous for her vineyards, let this be symbolic of the Spiritual reality too God wants us to be intoxicated with His Love..
We met at Tucano coffee shop. I got there early and meditating on the fullness of Christ that was within me, then I started to feel the Holy Spirit really strong that it almost felt like my body was going to get sucked into the air! It was vibrating so fasts then I had a vision that I was being sucked into a tunnel.
Then Victoria came, and we started to laugh, before we left the coffee shop to meet with Tobias at Maria’s house to goto Ueinghan for the weekend (village 100km away from Chisnau), we decided that we had to spread the laughter and joy to the waiter and waitresses. So we asked if we could pray for them, “would you like to experience the Joy of Jesus? Drinking the Holy Ghost??”
Then we layed hands on them and prayed, the laughter and joy broke out over the waiters/waitresses, for about 40 mins or so we were laughing and enjoying the Holy Spirit. Then we got their facebook contacts to keep in touch.
Later, we went to Ueinghan with Tobias to stay with his friends there for the weekend.
Below is a photo of my lovely hosts and Tobias,
During the day, we saw this incredible angel wings in the sky.
At night, ministered in the youth group and the Holy Spirit overcomed us with laughter again. Gave words of knowledge that someone who was 14 there, so it was the pastor’s daughter.
Preached in the morning on “I AM the One Jesus loves”. People were so receptive to the message. Then had word of knowledge to pray for stomach aches.
Why was Jesus Christ (Prince of peace) killed on the cross?
(this teaching is by no means perfect or 100%, but we are trying to allow ourselves to look at this truth from a different perspective and disover that truth might be multi-faceted and deeper than our 1 way of looking at it.)
Was it because God was crazily in love with us, or He just wanted to be ‘satisfied’ and be ‘content’ with us?
This new series will help you get a more clear revelation of the Father heart of God and overcome your struggles with receiving His love. So many Christians sub-consciously believe that Jesus loves them more than the Father loves them, because Jesus rescued them from the Father’s wrath.
To help us understand, let’s have a look at 2 illustrations of traffic offense:
1. Today, you drove 150km/hr through an big area set aside for an blind children’s conference. There were 10 signs along the way that said “20 km/hr only”. What you did was extremely dangerous for the children. The police caught you and gave you a big fine $50,000 fine. You can’t afford to pay, you will have to goto jail. Later, someone you don’t even know, came and pay the fine for you so you can go free! The judge didn’t really forgive you, but was satiasfied because the fine was paid. There was no love on the judges part, it was a judicial transaction.
2. Later, the judge said ‘Forgiven!, I love you, your fine has been weaved, there is no more need to pay for it! you are debt free and forgiven with no conditions!! now don’t do this again.” This is great news!! It shows love on part of Judge that he took the initiate to clear your debt because of His mercy.
Views on the atonement
The so called “traditional view” that most people have been taught in the church, is that Jesus came to pay the debt we owe to God for breaking His laws (similiar to illustration 1. Also known as Penal Substitution). In order for us to be forgiven, Jesus had to take the punishment for our sins from God who is an angry judge. Is like that God has anger problem, and He needs payment in order for His anger to be appeased and satisfied. Is that really the case?
I mean, if God IS love as mentioned in
1John 4:8 The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Love is defined as keeping no record of wrongs,
NIV 1 Cor 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love has no ‘unforgiveness’, hence does He require payment or punishment in order to forgive us? Why can’t he just forgive us unconditionally without any payment? In fact, He already has before time began in eternity past, because Love is forgiveness. An merciful judge can weave the debt because He is love. If an friend wrongs you, you can just love and forgive them, without them ‘paying’ for it by suffering in anyway.
Love doesn’t require any payment, it is unconditional forgiveness.
God is Pure Love, it keeps no record of wrongs, no unforgiveness, God IS forgiveness. There is no need to do anything for forgiveness because we are already all forgiven because forgiveness is Who He Is.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His One and only Son…
Traditionally we’ve taught that the reason God sent Jesus was so that He could forgive us, but the reason why He sent Jesus to rescue us is because He already forgave us!! because HE IS LOVE!!
Forgiveness is not an event, it’s a Person.
The life of God is in His Blood
Leviticus 17:11 for the life of every living thing is in the blood. So I myself have assigned it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives, for the blood makes atonement by means of the life.
Jesus didn’t die to pay the payment for our debt to get us forgiveness from God, but He died to pour out His blood so we can drink of it, which is love/life/forgiveness/healing personified. In order for us to be joined to Him, He has to pour out His blood.. Jesus allowed Himself to be killed by wicked man so that we can drink of His blood and His blood would become our blood.
Jesus’ death on the cross was not so that God could forgive us, but to open up God’s forgiveness to us which was always there in eternity so we could take and drink of it; human beings thought that God had unforgiveness and was against us, but this is the lie that caused us to turn away from God Who is Love and Forgiveness.
Hebrews 9:22 Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins; we think that in order for our sins to be forgiven, someone has to pay by dying; but that’s not what it’s saying here, its the blood that is/brings forgiveness, not the death.
We have already been forgiven from all eternity because Forgiveness is found in God Himself, His character, Who He is. So If you want to receive experience His forgiveness, you need to be joined to Him by drinking His blood, His life, Himself.
John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
Jesus gave His life because he has already considered you as his friend because he already forgave you.
Jesus could forgive sins even before He died on the cross-
Mark 2:10 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytic
Jesus died to destroy our sinful nature, the power of sin and deliver us from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.
Jesus rose from the dead, to make us new creations in union/oneness with God our Father, giving us New life and His Perfect record, making us children of God by reconciling us to Him in this wonderful relationship
God forgave us before time began (because God IS LOVE- love keeps no record of wrongs; Jesus is ‘the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world’), but that forgiveness was made available when the blood was poured out 2000 years ago (life, love, healing, forgiveness is in the blood
We will dig deeper into the coming weeks…
If you would like to support/invest into my ministry financially,
Mark Steen, Living lightenings, Life Strand conference, Sunshine Coast, Feb 28- March 1st, 2015
Last weekend I went to see Mark Steen, when he plays the guitar, mystical heavenly instruments/sounds come out of nowhere!! It was incredible, so life changing that listening to the music made me feel like I’m in heaven!!
Thank you so, so much Mark for sharing your revelation on the Kingdom of heaven and changing my life!!!
In the beginning of part 3, ball of light blue/saphire/white flashes across the room as Mark was talking about the angels!! I never saw it with my physical eyes but only on the video only!!
“Mark is a psalmist, all songs are inspired, driven, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Mark is a musicianary and a revivalist of the gospel, releasing Heaven’s frequency that recalibrates our DNA to the life strand of God.
One of the most impacting experiences of Mark’s life was when he was 20 years old and had a bike accident which resulted in him being “clinically dead”. In that time, Mark entered Heaven, where Jesus took him into many rooms, leaving Mark with the mandate to come back to life to release people into the power of God’s first love.”
Does God make people sick through communion, the Lord’s supper? Or do we make ourselves sick? what does it mean to partake of the Lord’s table in an unworthy manner?
1) How can one expect to get sick when Jesus clearly says in,
48 I AM the bread of life
51 I AM the living bread that came down from heaven, if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.
54 “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life (quality not just quantity)”.
55 For my flesh is true food, my blood is true drink,
Eternal life doesn’t only refer to the length of life, but it also refers to “quality” of life- healing, wholeness, health. When one takes communion regularly, they experience a quality of life, the healing/life benefits Jesus. Joseph prince says that in the greek, the language used in this scripture is refering to Lord’s supper in Matthew 26:26-29
When one takes time to ponder that ‘By His whipping I AM healed” as they are about to take the communion, by faith I’m tapping into the reality of HIs sacrifice for me and experiencing salvation( includes healing not just deliverance from hell).
The blood and the body of Jesus gives life to our mortal bodies, that even John the apostle never died; there are mystics that’s 400 years old still alive. Elijah, Enoch never died, communion is total opposite of death.
When I take of the communion i declare, “Your body was broken so I could be made whole, you were wounded so I could be healed. I judge myself healed. The life is in the blood, i drink your blood and i have life, I’m cleansed from a guilty conscience and washed whiter than snow, forgiven of all my sins past present and future. Thank You for blood that was poured out for me.”
In Israel today, when people take the unleaven bread for passover, there are stripes on the bread, this is actually a prophetic picture of Jesus being whipped and beaten. The communion meal is actually the passover meal.
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you are saved through faith…”
to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction 1a) one (from injury or peril) 1a1) to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health
The bread is symbolic of the body of Jesus, the wine is symbolic of the blood. When we eat of the body we are reminding ourselves of the benefits of the body which bought us healing, when we drink the wine we are reminding ourselves of the benefits of the blood which bought us life and cleansing. Throughout church history, some people have had supernatural experiences and seen signs and wonders when they have partaken of the Lord’s table.
2) Please read 1 Cor 11:17-34
The context was that, there were people who were selfish and at the communion meal, eating all the food and drinking all the wine so that there was none left for others to eat!! especially over those who were poor and had nothing left to eat… those selfish ones were obviously not taking communion to rememebr the Lord’s body and blood, but it was for selfish reasons.
Its not that God makes anyone sick, but its just that people are allowing themselves sick by not meditating, recognising the revelation, or tapping into the healing power of Jesus so that they don’t get the benefits of healing, so they actually become sick; the world we live in is already sick by the power of sin so we need Jesus Immunity to keep us healthy so to speak.
Isaiah53:4 But he lifted up our illnesses,
he carried our pain;
even though we thought he was being punished,
attacked by God,and afflicted for something he had done.
53:5 He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds,
crushed because of our sins;
he endured punishment that made us well (brought us peace/shalom);
because of his wounds/stripes/whipping we have been healed.
E.g. imagine there was a virus going around that makes everyone sick, but if you wear mouth masks and gloves you can be protected, if you don’t you will get sick. Without recognising the body and blood of Lord and the Spirit of Life to give me life and life abundantly, i’m not getting ‘mouth masks or gloves’ of viral protection against the viral lies of this world that makes me live under the law of sin and death which produces sickness and diseases.
God doesn’t make anyone sick; but we make ourselves sick by not recognising, and rejecting revelation, and using the healing he’s provided for us through the body and the blood.
God’s judgment is God’s discipline-His love, not punishment, like an angry father as many see God.
E.g. if I’m hosting a party at my house, and my son is running around wild and causing havoc, then if it has come to a point that he doesn’t listen, I might have to tell him to goto his room for a while. This is discipline, but he’s missing out on the party and food and benefits of felloship and friendship.I”m not punishing him as such, but i’m just telling him to goto his room so he won’t cause havoc anymore. When he goes into his room, its like a room that has no revelation and he cannot experience the benefits of the party, the fellowship food and drink.
When we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world (1 Cor. 11:32, NASB)
The word for”disciplined”in this verse should not make you think of punishment. It means training as in training up a child. To discipline is to disciple and we are discipled by the Lord. With that in mind, here is my paraphrase of the two verses:
When we receive the Lord’s good judgment – in him you are righteous! – and when we learn to discern what is from the Lord (grace and healing) and what is not (sickness and worry), we are trained up as sons and daughters. We no longer suffer the effects of sin and condemnation. (1 Cor 11:31-32, Paul’s paraphrase)”
God’s judgment here is simply allowing us to go out own way, which is a form of punishment in itself;
Romans 1:24, 26 “Therefore God gave them up…”, letting us go into whatever our free will wants to achive. In that, the judgment is the result from the sin we do, not God. God lets human beings have their own way, that is judgment.
We are the one missing out on the revelation of healing so that we end up living. God’s not punishing us as such, but it’s our own sin that is punishing. God’s punishment is by allowing you to miss out on the revelation of healing. If communion could make you sick, then who in their right mind would take it? It doesn’t make any sense, when Jesus clearly says if ‘you eat my body and drink my blood’ you will love forever!
At Jesus last supper, there is no record of Jesus ever telling their disciples to confess all their sons before they take the communion meal!
In conclusion, the purpose of taking communion, was to remind ourselves of the healing benefits of the body and blood of Jesus. His body brings us healing and supernatural strength, his blood gives us life and cleanses us from a guilty conscience. When we are taking it, we are celebrating His death, what He achieved on the cross. It was all a Free Gift, it has nothing to do with us, confessing sins or getting right with one another- all this is a form of works, (i’m not saying we dont’ do that, because love is simply the overflow), but it was not really about that at all. Communion is communion of the Lords’s body and blood, it’s not a ‘work’, but its a gift of grace- don’t make it into a work (gotta confess your sins and do this or that, 10 steps before you can…)…. it’s a celebration!!
Acts 10:1 Now there was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort. 2 He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was all his household; he did many acts of charity for the people and prayed to God regularly. 3 About three o’clock one afternoon he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius.” 4 Staring at him and becoming greatly afraid, Cornelius replied, “What is it, Lord?” The angel said to him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have gone up as a memorial before God.
Revelation 8:4 The smoke coming from the incense, along with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.
Living a generous lifestyle attracts angelic ministry
The angels takes our generosity/charity and brings it before God. Generosity goes up to the throne of God as an fragrant incenese with angels holding the bowl.
Let us be generous in every area of our lives because we are grateful to what God has done for us. Generosity in our time, money, resources, material possessions, friendships, love, forgiveness , patience, the fruit and the Gifts of the Spirit etc…
11:24 One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty. 25 A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.
22:9 A generous person will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.
2Corinthians 9:5 Therefore I thought it necessary to urge these brothers to go to you in advance and to arrange ahead of time the generous contribution you had promised, so this may be ready as a generous gift and not as something you feel forced to do. 6 My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace overflow to you so that because you have enough of everything in every way at all times, you will overflow in every good work. 9 Just as it is written, “He has scattered widely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.” 10 Now God who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your supply of seed and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God, 12 because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God. 13 Through the evidence of this service they will glorify God because of your obedience to your confession in the gospel of Christ and the generosity of your sharing with them and with everyone. 14 And in their prayers on your behalf they long for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown to you.15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
1) cheerful, joyous, prompt to do anything
from the same as 2436; propitious or merry (“hilarious”), i.e. prompt or willing:-cheerful. see GREEK for 2436
Being generous is actually thanksgiving to God; it is the same as prayer. Whenever we are generous and pray, the angels are commissioned to come and take it to God. Generosity is actually an indescribable gift God gives to us!!! being able to give is an Gift in itself!!! there is so much Joy, Cheerfulness in giving, let’s give cheerfully not grudgingly or sadly.
1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this world’s goods not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.18 Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others.
If you would like to support/invest into my ministry financially,
What do you boast about? yourself? things you do? your heavenly encounters of works of charity? or about Jesus’ love for you??
What is the Definition of love?
1John 4:10 In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
*I boast in God’s love for me, not in my love for God; my confidence is in His love for me, not my love for Him. God’s love for us is unchanging, eternal, everlasting; my love for Him has its ups and downs, its not always consistent. If my foundation/focus in life is on my love for Him, then I will become depressed, unworthy and condemned.
John 17:26 I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”
God our Father loves us the same way He loves Jesus!!
Question: Do I always tend to focus on my love for God rather than His love for me? How does this affect my relationship with God? Or with others
“I AM THAT I AM” is the Name of God
3:11 Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, or that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” 12 He replied, “Surely I will be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you bring the people out of Egypt, you and they will serve God on this mountain.”
13 Moses said to God, “If I go to the Israelites and tell them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they as me, ‘What is his name?’– what should I say to them?”
God said to Moses, “I AM that I AM.” And he said, “You must say this to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” v15 God also said to Moses, “You must say this to the Israelites, ‘The Lord –the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob –has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial from generation to generation.’
*When Moses discovered “Who” God is, he also discovered “Who he is”.
If you know His Name “I AM that I AM”, then you will know your name, “I am that I AM”.
*One of the revelations of my identity in Christ, is that “I AM God’s beloved”
See yourself the way God sees you: the One He loves.
Luke 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”
*I don’t say ‘I am’, but I say “I AM”. When I declare God’s Name, “I AM that I AM”, I am actually saying I AM one with God, I AM one in Him, He is in me, he lives in every cell of my body.
My name is connected to His Name, because God is in me, I can say “I AM”, I exist because of Him
*I don’t say, “I can, I will be”, but I say, “I AM” because I already have it, I lack nothing. It’s not going to happen, but it has already happened.
Questions: How important is it for us to know who we are?
Declarations you can make everyday (I do this every morning when I get up)
I AM beloved
I AM the one He loves
I AM God’s beloved
I AM Father’s beloved
I AM Jesus beloved
I AM Holy Spirit beloved
Questions: How is your self talk? Do you have bad self-image? do you speak about yourself as God’s Son or Daughter?
What is the Difference between OC and NC love?
*In the OC, you boast about your love for God because you were obligated, had to love Him
*In the NC, you boast about God’s love for you because you want to love God, not because you have to, but you have such an revelation about how much He loves you that it stirs a reciprocal love towards Him
Lazarus was referred to by others as “the one Jesus loves”
John 11:3 So the sisters sent a message to Jesus, “Lord, look, the one you love is sick.”
v.36 Thus the people who had come to mourn said, “Look how much he loved him!”
*If you want to get Jesus attention, say “I AM the one He loves..”
John called himself “the disciple Jesus loved”, John boasted in God’s love for him
*Who wrote the book of John? John wrote of himself as the One Jesus loved!!
What is the difference between disciple John and Peter? Peter was someone who boasted in His love for God, whilst John was someone who boasted in God’s love for him.
Benefits of boasting in God’s love for you, not your love for God
*You will feel the closeness of Jesus, find rest in His bossom, know the secrets of God
13:23 One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, was at the table to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. v24 So Simon Peter gestured to this disciple to ask Jesus who it was he was referring to. v.25 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved leaned back against Jesus’ chest and asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
Peter couldnt’ ask Jesus’ directly the question, but had to go through John, because he felt far away.
*You will follow Jesus all the way to the end.
19:26 So when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, look, here is your son!”
John followed Jesus all the way to the cruxifiction, while all the other disciples deserted him
*You will outrun (more passionate) than anyone else
John 20:1-9 Now very early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been moved away from the entrance. So she went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” 20:3 Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb. The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, arrived and went right into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, and the face cloth, which had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, came in, and he saw and believed. (For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.)
*You will have greater faith. No need to see with your physical eyes to believe. Why didn’t John go into the tomb straight away? Because he knew Jesus wasn’t there, he remembered Jesus said “I’m going to rise from the dead”.
*You will be the first to recognise when God is doing something in your midst, His Presence/appearance, signs and wonders.
John 21:4 When it was already very early morning, Jesus stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. So Jesus said to them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, do you?” They replied, “No.” He told them, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they threw the net, and were not able to pull it in because of the large number of fish.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” So Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, tucked in his outer garment (for he had nothing on underneath it), and plunged into the sea.
The negatives of boasting in yourself and your love for God
Peter was always boasting how much he was doing for God, he thinks he know it all,his eyes was fixed on himself, not Jesus.
*You will end up getting ahead of God’s will
Matt 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22So Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him: “God forbid, Lord! This must not happen to you!” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, because you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but on man’s.”
Peter thought he knew it all, he knew better than God.
*You will end up denying Jesus, become hypocritical/compromise/backslide
Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus said to them, “This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” 33 Peter said to him, “If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!” 34Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
*You will always be comparing yourself with others, judgmental and jealous of others, proud, self-conscious, self-righteous, self-condemned
John 21:18 I tell you the solemn truth, when you were young, you tied your clothes around you and went wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will tie you up and bring you where you do not want to go.”19 (Now Jesus said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter was going to glorify God.) After he said this, Jesus told Peter, “Follow me.”
21:20 Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. (This was the disciple who had leaned back against Jesus’ chest at the meal and asked, “Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”) So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus,“Lord, what about him?” Jesus replied, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”So the saying circulated among the brothers and sisters that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours?”
1Peter 5:5 In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
*You will live legalism- condemnation and death.
2 Cor 3:7 But if the ministry that produced death – carved in letters on stone tablets – came with glory, so that the Israelites could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face (a glory which was made ineffective), 8 how much more glorious will the ministry of the Spirit be? 9 For if there was glory in the ministry that produced condemnation, how much more does the ministry that produces righteousness excel in glory!
Question:Can you see some examples of when you have boasted in your own love for God?
Or when you boasted in God’s love for you? What happened?
What are some practical ways I can boast in God’s love for me?
What are the some other benefits of boasting, focusing on God’s love for me?
When you boast, only boast in God’s love for you and He did for you, don’t boast about how good you are!! Don’t boast about your good works- you will always fall short, but focus on God’s eternal, unchanging love for you that is Constant, you will have a stable consistent life.
Don’t boast about your ministry, what you do for God, but what He has Done for you in Christ!!
Grace is about “wants to” not “have tos”, stirs up voluntary/spontaneous love for Jesus, reciprocating His love
1 Corinthians 1:31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Galatians 6:14 But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
In conclusion, say with me,
I AM God’s favorite One!!
I AM God’s Chosen One!!
I AM God’s Beloved!!
